Truckee Meadows Water provides free water testing services in the Reno / Sparks / Carson City / Lake Tahoe area for water contaminants, this includes well water testing.
Your first step is to ask us for a no obligation, free water testing service. You’ll then know the status of your water, and we can discuss appropriate options. Contact us today for a free water testing!
If your water source is provided by a municipality, your water is regularly tested and monitored, and it must meet the EPA standards for primary water contaminants or they must notify you that your water exceeds a certain constituent.
Well Water Testing and Home Water Testing
If your water source is a private well for a private home, there are no present EPA regulations protecting you from high levels of contaminants such as arsenic, nitrates, and fluoride, uranium & coliform bacteria. You may also have concerns about hardness, odor, iron, manganese, and sediment. The rural areas of Northern Nevada like Red Rock, Palomino Valley, Fernley, Fallon, the Virginia City Highlands, Washoe Valley, Carson Valley & Truckee are notorious for high levels of arsenic, nitrates, fluoride, uranium, hard water, iron ,manganese and coliform bacteria.
At Truckee Meadows Water Systems, we offer free water testing in Northern Nevada and nearby California cities. We will test your water at no charge for iron, total dissolved solids, pH, hardness, flow rates, and pressure.
In most cases after we’ve completed your complimentary water testing, our service can usually recommend a water conditioning system based on those tests that will effectively treat your water. In other instances and in order to determine the proper treatment system for reduction/removal of your impurities, we may recommend a complete water analysis from a state-certified laboratory. Certified labs usually charge between $100.00 and $300.00 for a routine home water testing analysis. If such an analysis is recommended, we can help facilitate the process for you.
